Launch of New Energy Efficiency Software

A new energy efficiency software that will enable regular energy monitoring in all public buildings throughout the country, has just been launched.

This software is a useful tool for both central and local governments that can facilitate more effective implementation of the Law on Energy. Its comprehensive database will make calculation of energy consumption, energy expenses and energy performance much easier. It is expected that this software will be a key tool for regulating energy savings and increasing the municipal budgets -  contributing to the well-being of all citizens.

The software will also allow national institutions to have energy consumption statistics in a standardized format for the first time. These statistics will be a valuable basis for the development of all future national and local energy efficiency strategies on public buildings.

The software was developed together by the Ministry of Environment and Physical Planning, the Ministry of Economy, the Association of Local Self-Governments (ZELS), the municipalities and UNDP. Significant support was also provided by EVN and by Toplifikacija A.D. Skopje, in the frames of the project “Energy Efficiency in the Building Sector”, implemented by UNDP and the Ministry of Environment and Physical Planning, with the financial support of the Austrian Development Cooperation.
